Prayer

     Prayer works.

     Imagine a totally loving person.  This loving person has given himself for you.  In fact he has given his whole life for you.  The very unusual person  wants nothing but the best for you - always.   Imagine such a person.

     This loving person just sits and waits by the telephone hoping that you will call. 

     Then imagine that this loving person has unlimited wealth and power.  He can give you the best that you can imagine. 

    This loving person sends you a letter.  In the letter he tells you that he will give you whatever you ask - unless it is going to hurt you.  He loves you so much he will only do what you ask if it is good for you.  He is also the most intelligent person in the universe.  He knows what is best for you. 

     Yet you ignore his letter.  And you ignore several other letters. You just can not believe that anyone could love you that much.  So you live your life rejecting the greatest love that anyone can imagine.

     Your friend installs new telephones everywhere you go.  They are all free for you to use.  If only you will stop for a minute and call.

     Yet you ignore all the free telephones that are around you everywhere you go.  You ignore that promises.  You ignore the letters.  You ignore your wealthy and wise friend who is just waiting to talk with you.

     Your friend sends others to come a talk with you and tell you that it is true.  You can have the very best of everything in this life - and forever.   They tell you story after story of the amazing and exciting things that have happened to them as a result of calling your friend. 

            Yet you ignore these people - and their stories.

            Prayer is even better than this.

     God loves you more than the richest and wisest person in the universe ever could.  He offers you more - just for asking.  You do not even need a telephone.  God will not only talk with you, He will heal your memories, heal your pain, give you peace and joy as He is helping to solve your problems.  He will change your life.  He promises to answer every request.  He also offers you eternal life in glory with Him.  If you will just take the time to talk with Him.  Just take the time to pray.

     Prayer is a conversation just between you and God.  It is the ultimate key to your personal, emotional, mental, spiritual, and everything else well being.

     If you feel weak and fearful, and you pray, God will take away your fear and weakness.  I you will only stop and pray, even during your worst crisis, God will give you peace.  There is nothing else remotely like it.  Prayer is real.  Prayer works.
