Deliverance From Our Flesh

PRAYER IS HE BATLE * MINISTRY IS TAKING THE SPOILS

This topic begins with a contrast between grieving and quenching      the  Holy Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit.  Then the believer’s responsibility in the spiritual life is presented.

The Holy Spirit is God’s power for us.  God loves us.  He loves you so much that He cares about every detail, ever need, every hurt in your life.

God give the best to His children.  As His child He has give you His power, His comfort, His love, joy, and peace.  These are real gifts.  God has given them, and more, to you to keep.  They live in you in His gift of His Holy Spirit.

God has given you His Holly Spirit to live in you, to live in you, so that you can have joy and pace in this world.  His Holy Spirit will fill you with love an ability like you have never known before.  All you need to do is want the Spirit to do so.

Love beyond your imagination.  Ability beyond your understanding.  Help in all circumstances.  These are God’s love gifts to you.  Right now you can enjoy them.  All you do is turn away from your sin, and turn to God.

Do you want God’s gifts for you?  Do you want a real exciting and abundant life?  Then continue on.  Here are the practical basics.

To live in God’s love gifts there are both things to avoid, and things a believer should seek with the Holy Spirit.

The things we should avoid are called Grieving the Holy Spirit and Quenching the Holy Spirit.

The things we should seek are called Walking in the Holy Spirit, and Filling by the Holy Spirit.

Either of the things we should avoid are caused by a failure on our part to obey God.  These things prevent the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.  God’s Holy Spirit is still living within us.  He never leaves.  But He cannot help us.  He cannot give us all that we need and desire.

The things we are to seek are those things which allow the Holy Spirit to give us power for service, and freedom from sin.  This is how our lives become exciting and joyful, no matter what our circumstances.  These things are not great spiritual secrets that only the great saints can understand and live.  They are available to you, and to me.  You can have the joyful and fruitful life that you crave deep inside of you.  It is the best life you can imagine.  But it is up to you to cooperate with the Holy Spirit.

To grieve the Holy Spirit basically means that we fail to live in the fellowship of love together.  There is a breakdown of unity.  It is caused by relational sin.  It is especially caused by how believers treat each other.

A Christian who causes divisions in the Body of Christ is not depending on the Holy Spirit.  So that means that the flesh is controlling this person rather than the Holy Spirit.

A Christian who does not forgive one another, or who leads another into sin, is grieving the Holy Spirit.  Criticism does this also.  So does anger, and hate, and bitterness.
